Armenian Themes have been a constant source of inspiration for Mary Zakarian's art. In 1971, she traveled to the former Soviet Armenia, where she visited ruins, landmarks, studios, churches, and other significant parts of Armenian history. Because of the high demand for these paintings within the Armenian community, many of her Armenian paintings were sold before they could be photographed.
